Aberaeron Zita Bonita goes North.
Zita a PRE / Andalusian part-bred filly has now gone to the Orkney Islands with new owners Catherine & George Baikie - CONGRATULATIONS! She was placed 6th in the Welsh part-bred foal class at the Royal Welsh Show. Her dam Cariad was placed 6th in the coloured class and 5th in the Welsh part-bred class. 		welsh part-bred

Aberaeron stud had a super outing on 14th August, scooping a bagfull of ribbons. Cariad won 1st in the coloured class. Zita won the Part-bred Welsh foal & Arab & Part-bred arab foal class. Well done Jo, Emyr, Cariad & Zita.

Black lady proves a gem
Owned by the Thomas family, Camarthen, Aberaeron Black Lady aka Santes is a pure bred Welsh Cob Section D. Shown right is 15yr old Ross Mayes riding Santes. They represented Wales at the Pony Club UK Junior Regional tetrathlon competition. Tetrathlon involves shooting, swimming, running & cross-country riding. Ross helped the team to 2nd place.

Shown below right is Nesta Thomas. In 2008 she was a member of the Vale of Taf pony club Eventing team. A few of their achievements include: 6th place in the Milton Keynes 3 day event; 4th in the BE Event at Cheltenham; 3rd at the National Eventing finals at Offchurch; 2nd at the Cambrian Cob Challenge.

Santes is by Llyfni Hebog, out of Aberaeron Telynores Merch Ceinwen making her a half sister to Black Bess & Black Knight. Her great grandmother Aberaeron Coeswen Ddu is still with the Aberaeron Stud.

Right Royal Welsh Result!
Despite torrential rain & knee-high mud, Cariad Kentucky & Zita Bonita managed to scoop a bag full of rosettes. Turned out to perfection by Johanna Shaw, Cariad was placed 6th in the Coloured 4yr old and over class & qualified for the CHAPS / P(UK) Summer Championship Show in 2010.
The Welsh Part Bred section also proved fruitful. Handlers Johanna & Emyr Evans - who was making a comeback to the show ring after 27 years of retirement due to Gary's broken leg, he was quoted "things have changed dramatically, standards have soared...". Cariad was placed 5th and Zita 6th.

Aberaeron Zita Bonita (Pretty Girl) is the 7th generation of 'Aberaeron' breeding. Born on April 29, 2009, out of Aberaeron Cariad Kentucky & by PRE (Andalusian) stallion Elegante. Dressage/ showing potential. She is microchiped & registered with BAPSH & WPCS.
